A very important part of piano lessons is the art of performing. Although there seem to be a few children who shy away from recitals, if encouraged, the piano student will feel as if they have taken on the world once they have performed. Feeling nervous beforehand is instantly rewarded with joy once a student performs.

There are ways of boosting your child's confidence. If encouraged when at someone's home, a store or church that has a piano, the student could be encouraged to ask permission to play. If that student plays, regardless of how well he or she plays, they could be rewarded with something special. I have a student who is hired by his father to perform whenever they have company. He pays him $2 for 30 seconds of music. He may only play each song once per evening. This motivates him to learn more songs, thereby increasing his practice and performance time.

I hold semi-annual recitals which enables the student to enhance his or her lessons. Your child could also be a "star" with piano lessons. Please feel free to view the recital video below to see a recent performance of mine. The photo gallery below also shows the joy on each students face from performing.

The rewards of studying music can range from developing lifelong skills of discipline, self- confidence, and focus of expression and presentation skills. These skills can be used in other life events.

Five or more years of study will pay off for many, many years to come.

Without a doubt, someday, your children will thank you.

Below are some recent photos.
